Chromatic Loudness by Tyler Adams

 Chromatic Loudness - 2010

This series of videos re-stages research conducted by Dr. Hugo Fastl which found a correlation between color and the subjective evaluation of loudness. That is to say that the color of an object or device impacts how loud we judge it to be. In the specific case of trains, for example, Dr. Fastl found that green trains were often judged as significantly quieter than red trains, even though both trains were measurably of equal loudness.
