Listening Station - 2008
Listening Station is a parabolic listening device created as a site specific installation for Lower Arroyo Park in Pasadena, CA. Listening Station functions as binoculars for the ears, allowing the listener to focus in on distant sounds and isolate them from their environment. Listening Station does not use any electronic technology. Instead, material and form are utilized to acoustically transform ambient sounds, filtering, focusing, and subtly amplifying.
