Paper Pendulums - 2010
Paper discs, mounted in embroidery hoops, are suspended from the ceiling as pendulums which hang above speakers. All speakers produce a very low frequency which can not be heard. When the paper pendulums pass over the speaker they translate this low frequency to vibration. Each type of paper produces its own unique sound through vibration. For the installation documented here, the following kinds of paper were used: glassine, parchment, banner paper, wax paper, and two varieties of tissue paper.
